Tommy Perason continues his series of interviews with some of today's best-loved and most influential film composers. Tonight he talks with Michael Giacchino - composer of The Incredibles and Up - and Clint 'Black Swan' Mansell.
Michael Giacchino chats about his long-standing working partnership with director and producer J.J. Abrams on such big and small screen projects as Star Trek and Lost.

Giacchino cut his composing teeth writing the music for video games. And it was Steven Spielberg who first insisted that he use a full symphony orchestra on his score for The Lost World video game:
In the second half of the show, the composer Clint Mansell talks about his varied career, from his days as lead singer with British alternative rock group Pop Will Eat Itself through to his movie collaborations with director Darren Aronofsky on films such as Black Swan and Noah.
Here he talks to Tommy Pearson about the Lux Aeterna cue from Requiem for a Dream – a piece that now has a life of its own in movie trailers, commercials and in TV shows:
And there's a further treat for fans of video game soundtracks: tonight's show ends with a chance to hear the world premiere recording of Final Symphony - which brings together music from video games, Final Fantasy VI, VII and X. It was recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra in the presence of composer Nobuo Uematsu. First performed in May 2013, Final Symphony has enjoyed sell-out success in Germany, United Kingdom, Japan, Denmark, Sweden and Finland.
