Looking ahead to Sunday's Academy Awards, Howard Goodall showcases the great Oscar-winning scores of years gone by.

The Academy Awards are taking place tomorrow evening, so Howard’s putting on his best tux and celebrating the winners of the Best Original Score from the 1930s right up to last year.  

Get ready for the cream of the movie scores crop, including music from The Wizard of Oz, Born Free, E.T., The Lion King and The Life of Pi.  

Howard will then turn his attentions to this year’s nominees for Best Original Score including Philomena, Saving Mr Banks (pictured) and BAFTA-winner Gravity.
