André Rieu is holding on to the top spot but strong competition is sailing into view from the equally hirsute Ross Poldark.
André Rieu's Magic of the Violin – last week's new No.1 – looks like it's settling in for a long run at the top of the Classic FM Chart. But Anne Dudley’s haunting and moving score to the hugely successful drama series Poldark is this week's highest new entry at No.2. Poldark has been one of the most acclaimed television productions of recent years and this sweeping and evocative score has been a key ingredient in this success.
There's another high new entry at No.3 from Classic FM's Orchestra in the North-West of England, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. The Tchaikovsky Album is a former Classic FM Album of the Week and shows off Tchaikovsky's greatest music to dazzling effect.
