The Classic FM Chart - 20 July 2014

There's a new No. 1 in the Classic FM Chart - Nicola Benedetti's 'Homecoming'.

Nicola Benedetti has shot straight into the Chart at No.1, unseating Craig Ogden. The 'Homecoming' effect has also seen two of Benedetti's other albums re-entering the chart - The Silver Violin at 24 and My First Decade at 25.

Another new entry at No. 6 is Bruckner’s Symphony No. 9 in D Minor, recorded as part of the great Claudio Abbado’s last concert before his passing earlier this year. The Wall Street Journal described the performance as 'otherworldly', 'magisterial and moving'.
