Charlotte welcomes historical novelist Bernard Cornwell to the studio to chat about the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo.

This week on Classic FM’s weekly arts and culture show, Charlotte Green talks to the acclaimed novelist Bernard Cornwell. He is best known for his novels about Napoleonic Wars rifleman Richard Sharpe which have been adapted into the television series, Sharpe.

In addition to his many series of fictional novels, and a fictional retelling of the battle of Waterloo on 18 June 1815, he has recently published a non-fiction book, Waterloo: The History of Four Days, Three Armies and Three Battles, to mark the 200th anniversary of the battle.
