Actor, author and broadcaster Richard Armitage is joining Classic FM to present a brand new radio programme on classical music and theatre, Curtain Call with Richard Armitage.
Across five weeks, Richard will explore the music of the theatrical world, letting it take centre stage as he delves into the great and timeless melodies that have accompanied actors, ballet dancers, opera singers and more as they tread the boards.
In five hour-long episodes, Curtain Call with Richard Armitage will be broadcast on Sunday evenings at 6pm. The first episode, on Sunday 13 September, looks at ‘Lovers and Liaisons’, from Shakespeare’s star-crossed lovers Romeo and Juliet, and the Sondheim story they inspired, to one of the greatest operatic love duets of all time, from Puccini’s La bohème.
Future episodes will feature the dastardly rogues and rebels, mischief and mayhem, and music that makes you want to move.
