After a rap battle and freestyle video went viral, violinist David Wong and Ecuadorian rapper Mateo Alan have become the unlikely stars of an internet hit. The genre-busting video shows Alan freestyling in a rap battle with Wong's violin accompaniment.
The video was filmed in a car park at the FAM Expo in New York, a festival of music, art and fashion. Rapper Alan is described on his website as the "first urban artist from his home town Gualaceo, Ecuador," while Wong is more commonly known as "a multi-genre violinist/electric violinist".
Initially the video show Wong accompanying two other rappers who can't keep pace, but when Alan takes over the collaboration really takes off. As it stands, the video has had over 200,000 views.
