Barnabás Kelemen on his love of "universal" Bártok
Hungarian violinist Barnabás Kelemen, who was in town to pick up his Gramophone Award for best Chamber recording, spoke to Classic FM's Jamie Crick.
Picking up a deserved award for his album of Bartók violin sonatas, for which he received a huge amount of critical acclaim this year, Hungarian-born Kelemen spoke to Jamie Crick about the music of Bártok and what the award means to him.
"It means a lot. This is my first Gramophone award... [Bártok] is so universal, he means as much to me as Bach, Mozart and Brahms. His music is very close to me."
