Purcell's Dido and Aeneas

Rounding off an incredible week, Tom Morris' production of Purcell's great British opera will star the up-and-coming soprano Pumeza Matshikiza and The English Concert.

After last year's closing semi-staging of Handel's Messiah, Bristol Old Vic director Tom Morris again lends his talents to another vocal and orchestral masterpiece - Henry Purcell's Dido and Aeneas.

This year, though, he's joined by The English Concert and the fantastic young South African soprano Pumeza Matshikiza to make this semi-staged version into the perfect way to finish another memorable Bristol Proms.
