It's all about getting up close and intimate with classical music - we like the sound of that.

This weekend the Barbican in London are showcasing what they reckon is classical music its forward-thinking, accessible best - mixing familiar classics with sounds from living composers who are pushing the boundaries of what classical means today.

It features the likes of Chilly Gonzales, Alison Balsom, Iestyn Davies, our Orchestra in the City of London, the London Symphony Orchestra, Mari Samuelsen and more.

We caught up with piano virtuoso Chilly Gonzales, for a moment of improv and a chat about the premiere of 'The Young-ish Person's Guide to the Orchestra' on Saturday night. Also, we've got something quite marvellous from the incredible violin virtuoso Mari Samuelsen who popped in to Classic FM - you'll be able to find both on our Facebook page!
