This video of cellist Nathan Chen air-conducting Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 when he was a tiny kid is all kinds of lovely.

It shows legendary conductor Seiji Ozawa doing it first of all, then follows with Nathan’s charming attempt:

Nathan wrote in the video’s description:

“When I was very young, I experienced an intimate connection with the arts that influenced both my living and my being. It all started with an inherent attraction to the poise, passion and beauty of conductors like Herbert Von Karajan and Seiji Ozawa.”

Here are some completely amazing child prodigies>

“For me, that reaction wasn't just swaying - it was conducting right alongside all those great conductors in my best imitation.”
