Patrick Hawes - Fair Albion

English pastoral bliss from a great contemporary composer.

This pastoral classic helped Patrick Hawes on the way to becoming one of our most popular living composers.

In it, Classic FM's former Composer in Residence conjures up the majesty of nature with harps, lush strings, and gorgeous drawn-out tunes from the woodwind.

Fair Albion was the title track from his 2009 album which celebrated ‘the heart and soul of the British Landscape’. It featured guest performances by the soprano Elin Manahan Thomas, the cellist Julian Lloyd Webber and the Royal Harpist Claire Jones.
