Film composer Ilan Eshkeri has composed a gorgeous piece with undertones of Handel for the Burberry label.

Ilan Eshkeri's name is everywhere at the moment. Fresh from writing music for hit period drama series Young Victoria and classic children's movie Swallows and Amazons, the British composer has just created a soundtrack for a show for one of the most iconic fashion labels, Burberry.

Ilan Eshkeri played us bits of his themes from Swallows and Amazons >

And what a heady confection the composer has come up with, perfectly suited to match the Burberry collection. The clothes are inspired by the era-defying, transgender, Virginia Woolf character Orlando, encompassing everything from Elizabethan-style tunics and ruffs to 1930s silk dressing gowns.

Eshkeri’s music is equally eclectic and thrilling: Zadok the Priest meets the Arrival of the Queen of Sheba meets Brideshead Revisited meets Penny Lane, all wrapped up with a hypnotic, pulsing beat. Electrifying.
