Elgar was born in 1857 at this unassuming cottage in Lower Broadheath, a few miles from Worcester which is now the home of the Elgar Birthplace Museum in the shadow of the Malvern Hills.

Understated and peaceful, the house and surrounding area haven't changed all that much from when Elgar lived there with his family.
Margherita stands by the iconic house in which Elgar was born and spent his early years. It now houses a collection of scores, letters, and original manuscripts, giving an insight into the composer's life and personality.
