Classic FM's Composer in Residence has been commissioned to compose the orchestral Overture and Finale music for the royal celebration in May.

New music by Debbie Wiseman will be performed live at the Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations. The festivities will take place over four nights from 12th – 15th May 2016 in Home Park Private, Windsor Castle. Members of The Royal Family will attend each night, with The Queen present at the final performance on Sunday 15th May.

The celebration is a not-for-profit event and aims to create a significant surplus that will be donated to charities.

On all four nights, over 900 horses and 1,500 participants from around the world will descend on the private grounds of Home Park Private, Windsor Castle.

A huge variety of international acts and British icons is already confirmed, including The Oman Royal Cavalry, Chilean Huasos, New Zealand Army Band, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Azerbaijan Dancers and Djigitovka horses and riders, State Carriages from The Royal Mews, South Australian Police Band, The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery, The Fijian Army Dancers and Band, 100 Military and Commonwealth Pipers and The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment.

There will even be references to the Queen’s animals including her horses and ponies, her dogs and even Her Majesty’s racing pigeons.

Debbie Wiseman MBE said: "To be simply living at the time when our longest-serving monarch celebrates a landmark birthday is a privilege in itself; to be invited to be a part of the joyous celebrations is an honour indeed.

“I hope that you enjoy my specially-composed tribute to the life of Her Majesty and the many happy and glorious memories she has given to us, and shared with us, throughout her years of dedicated service to our country."

An album of Debbie Wiseman’s music composed for the Queen's 90th Birthday Celebration will be released on May 13th and a donation from each CD sold will go to The Royal Society of Musicians of Great Britain - a charity which helps musicians in need, of which The Queen is the Patron.
