Richard Kaufman’s film music love affair

John Williams, Arthur Bliss, and… Dimitri Tiomkin? Richard Kaufman sheds light on the composer’s classic movie soundtracks with the London Symphony Orchestra.

You might have heard of classic films The High and the Mighty and High Noon,but the composer’s name probably won’t trip off the tongue immediately. Dimitri Tiomkin is the man behind the music, and conductor Richard Kaufman is keen to get his name out there with the help of his new recording with the London Symphony Orchestra.

The Academy Award-winning composer has written scores for a number of film genres, from comedies to Westerns, so Kaufman has enjoyed conducting the wonderful assortment of music on the new CD.

“It’s like taking a journey and visiting all sorts of different towns, each one with a different character,” said Kaufman.
