New Zealand's Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, one of the world's greatest sopranos, sings on 1 July 2000 at the opening of the Beiteddine Festival on Mount Lebanon, about 45 kms southeast of Beirut. Accompanied by the Budapest Concert Orchestra, Te Kanawa performed in front of a crowd of 4,000.
