Craig Ogden has lost his guitar. The guitarist left his precious instrument in the back of a London cab as he hurried to a studio session on Monday.
The guitar, a ‘2003 Greg Smallman’ is worth £15,000 and Ogden calls it his vital organ: "It's my pride and joy, I feel like a part of me is missing without my guitar. It's my lifeline - I don't mean to sound corny, but it's my heartbeat".
Ogden has been frantically calling black cab firms since Monday to see if the guitar has been handed in, but it has yet to show up.
Buffie du Pon, head of the Classic FM record label, on which Ogden recently released The Guitarist, has issued a reward of £5,000 for anyone who finds the guitar. Du Pon says: "Craig has had tremendous success over the past three weeks having a No. 1 record. It seems so unfair that such misfortune can hit him at such a crucial time."
Craig Ogden’s album has rocketed to number one in the official charts since its release three weeks ago. He will perform at Classic FM Live at the Royal Albert Hall on 30 September.
