In celebration of Bolshoi Ballet returning to cinemas across the UK, Classic FM is giving you the chance to win a pair of tickets to Romeo & Juliet at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, performed by the legendary Bolshoi Ballet.
The Bolshoi – for many, the world’s preeminent classical ballet company – has its origins in an 18th-century orphanage. Established in Moscow by Catherine the Great, it later provided dance training for the foundlings. Few training programmes can have had such resplendent results. The company that made its debut in 1776 would become Russia’s most valuable cultural export during the 20th century, and it now flourishes in a refurbished theatre just minutes from the Kremlin.
