The brand new work by the former Classic FM Composer-in-Residence Patrick Hawes received its Royal Premiere at the world-famous gardens in June and is out now.
This unique and exclusive recording, performed by Royal Harpist Claire Jones with the Philharmonia Orchestra, features a brand new four-movement work inspired by the essence and beauty of the Highgrove Gardens. The album also features three other brand new recordings – Lady Radnor’s Suite (Hubert Parry), Sonata No.1 (John Parry), and Santa Fe Suite (William Mathias). All profits from album sales go to The Prince’s Charities Foundation.
The album coincides with a brand new television documentary entitled ‘Alan at Highgrove’, which aired on 23rd September. The programme featured HRH The Prince of Wales inviting celebrity gardener Alan Titchmarsh into his royal household to explore the gardens of Highgrove, giving the nation intimate access to the personal sanctuary of the next monarch. Excerpts from the album were played within the documentary, with The Prince of Wales and composer Hawes talking about their passion for classical music.
