Ben Fogle visited Yorkshire on his Notes From Hidden Britain tour, an area with a long and glorious musical history
John Barry, one of this country’s greatest film composers, was born in York. Barry was the son of a projectionist who went on to own a chain of cinemas across Yorkshire. As a boy, Barry used to help out at his father’s cinemas and said that this is where his love of films, and film music in particular, came from.
