Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall is home to the Royal National Scottish Orchestra. Both institutions are sure to be magnets for Glasgow's aspiring young musicians studying at the city's Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Former students of the college include the trumpeter Alison Balsom and from the acting world none other than Colin Firth, of The King's Speech fame.
