The Full Works Concert - Wednesday 27 February 2013: Great Orchestras of the World

Jane Jones continues her celebration of the Great Orchestras of the World with recordings by the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, including works by Schumann and Dvorak

This evening Anne-Marie Minhall selects 4 performances by the renowned orchestra, including music from Der Rosenkavalier by Richard Strauss under the baton of former chief conductor, Vladimir Ashkenazy. We’ll also hear all of Dvorak’s Symphony No.8, directed by the current chief conductor Jiri Belohlavek, who held that role in the early 90s and returned in 2010.
