Jane Jones is here Monday to Wednesday from 8pm with two hours of full works. On Thursday and Friday, Catherine Bott is in the hot seat.
Tonight’s concert features a couple of outstanding conductors, who can definitely be described as Immortal Masters.
Tonight, Jane Jones is joined by Classic FM’s Composer in Residence, Howard Goodall, for a very special Full Works Concert. Over the course of two hours, Jane will play a range of music by Howard – from his requiem, Eternal Light, through to his recently-premiered orchestral work More Tomorrows, which was inspired by the life-saving work of Cancer Research UK.
Along the way, Jane will be inviting Howard to help her demystify the role of ‘composer’. How does Howard go about writing music? What were his inspirations behind his famous pieces? And how does he tackle the task of being commissioned to compose? This promises to be a fascinating journey through Howard’s music, as we shine the spotlight on Classic FM’s Composer in Residence.
