The Full Works Concert - Monday 27 October, 8pm

To mark the start of Classic FM’s Arts and Kids Week, in association with The Prince’s Foundation for Children and the Arts, tonight’s Concert is dedicated to child prodigies.

Mozart was the true example of a child prodigy: the young composer could pick out tunes on the piano at the age of three, and began composing by age four. By the time he was 12, he had clocked up 10 symphonies and performed for royalty. Jane presents his Flute Concerto in G major this evening.

Mendelssohn was also a frighteningly clever child, excelling as a painter, poet, athlete, linguist and musician. We'll hear his first symphony tonight.
