Jane Jones is here Monday to Wednesday from 8pm with two hours of full works. On Thursday and Friday, Catherine Bott is in the hot seat.
Jane Jones hosts an English Celebration, marking both Shakespeare’s 450th birthday and St George’s Day.
Jane Jones marks a very special Shakespearean anniversary with music inspired by the great Bard's plays, including A Midsummer Night’s Dream , Henry V and Much Ado About Nothing .
And as it’s also St George’s Day, Jane has picked some great English music including a sparkling guitar quartet arrangement of Purcell’s The Fairy Queen, which was also coincidentally based on A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Listen out also for a modern take on The Tempest in the form of Michael Nyman ’s soundtrack to the Peter Greenaway film Prospero’s Books .
