This year's Classic BRIT Awards take place on 2nd October – and, over the next few Sundays, Anne-Marie Minhall looks forward to the glitziest night in the classical music calendar by featuring a range of nominated artists, all of whom are hoping to pick up a gong at the Royal Albert Hall.

This week, she begins with a look back at last year's ceremony, reminding us just what made 2012's winners so special. There'll be music from movie maestro John Williams (Lifetime Achievement/Composer of the Year), Milos (Breakthrough Artist), Benjamin Grosvenor (Critics' Choice), Vasily Petrenko (Male Artist of the Year), Andrea Bocelli (International Artist of the Year), Andre Rieu (Album of the Year) and Nicola Benedetti (Female Artist of the Year).
