Since his childhood days as a choirboy, Aled Jones has always loved choral music. So every Sunday on Classic FM, he invites you to be spiritually uplifted by his Choral Classic. Find out more about the pieces here and reflect on a stunning photo as you listen.
This sublime piece is taken from John Rutter’s six-movement work The Gift of Life (2015) which reflects different facets of the miracle of creation. Unlike a Requiem for the departed where there is a set form of words, the composer found that no framework exists for a celebration of life, so he had to choose – and in some cases, write – texts which were appropriate to the theme.
