The Full Works Concert - Friday 19th October 2012

Friday, October 5: Our fortnight-long Great British Soloists series reaches the end of its first week.

During Friday's concert we’ll hear a wonderful recording of the beautiful Rachmaninov Cello Sonata from cellist Natalie Clein and pianist Charles Owen.  There’s also the horn player David Pyatt performing a concerto by Richard Strauss, and a fine piece of organ music by Cesar Franck, played by Ian Tracey.  Plus – the whole of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.24, played by Mitsuko Uchida, a lady who was born in Japan but who took British citizenship prior to becoming a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2009.
