The Full Works Concert - Wednesday 26 November 2014

Beethoven's Emperor Concerto is the heart of this evening's Concert which also featured Handel, Dvorak and Mozart.

Jane Jones introduces tonight’s Full Works concert which features Beethoven’s last Piano Concerto, the Emperor, with Howard Shelley directing the Orchestra of Opera North from the piano.

"It's one of the most accomplished of all piano concertos," says Jane, "with a striking opening movement and a glorious rondo finale, but it’s the beauty and serenity of the hymn-like adagio which makes this Beethoven’s best."
