The conductor Valery Gergiev celebrates his 60th birthday on May 2, and David is dedicating two hours to recordings featuring him on the podium. He’ll focus on Gergiev’s contribution to Russian music – so expect to hear him conducting all sorts of famous pieces by Tchaikovsky, Borodin, Rachmaninov, Prokofiev and Rimsky-Korsakov.
