David Mellor - Sunday 9 November 2014, 7pm

David Mellor has music for Remembrance Sunday.

This week David Mellor marks Remembrance Sunday with a poignant show reflecting both the First and Second World Wars in classical music.

The programme includes music from British composers who were caught up in conflict and lost their lives - such as George Butterworth and Walter Leigh - as well as music that has found a special place in the nation’s heart during the war years and after.

The show will also feature a piece by Richard Strauss. Metamorphosen was written towards the end of the Second World War, shortly after the German composer visited the bombed-out ruins of Munich.
