David Mellor - Sunday 29 November 2015, 7pm

David Mellor celebrates St. Andrew's Day with a selection of Scotland-inspired favourites.

Tomorrow is St.Andrews Day so tonight David is getting in the mood early with a selection of great music inspired by Scotland.

Listen out for Mendelssohn’s evocation of the Hebrides, and Beethoven’s arrangement of a Scottish folksong. And Debussy of all people even tried his hand at composing a Scottish March.

Max Bruch’s Scottish Fantasy is given the authentic treatment from West Kilbride's pride and joy, the violinist Nicola Benedetti.

And there’s wonderful sounds from the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, and some light music favourites from the king of the genre Iain Sutherland.
