David Mellor - Sunday 21 September 2014, 7pm

David Mellor explores the career of the great conductor, Ferenc Fricsay.

The career of Ferenc Fricsay lasted only 20 years, but within that short time he still managed to became one of the world’s most in-demand conductors.

This Sunday, David Mellor explores some of Fricsay’s greatest recordings, starting with Beethoven’s Symphony No.5, and continuing with the music of his mentors, Kodaly and Bartok.  A real treat – and a great chance to learn more about a skilled conductor who was taken from us too soon.
