We are delighted to announce that Charlotte Green will be joining us to host a brand new series, starting on Sunday 7th April.

Charlotte Green’s Great Composers will see the much-loved presenter profile the world’s most famous composers, from Mozart and Beethoven through to Tchaikovsky and Elgar.

Beginning with Johann Sebastian Bach – a man known as the 'father' of classical music – Charlotte will explore the lives, the loves and, most importantly, the music of our most celebrated composers, as she plays a selection of rarely–heard works alongside iconic pieces of music. The two-hour programmes will be broadcast to Classic FM’s 5.4 million listeners every Sunday from 3pm.

Charlotte is one of the most well-known and popular female voices on UK radio. Her success was recognised yesterday when she won the Broadcasting Press Guild’s coveted Radio Broadcaster of the Year Award, beating fellow presenters Martha Kearney and Jarvis Cocker.

Charlotte Green said: "I’m delighted to have this opportunity to work for Classic FM. I’ve always enjoyed listening to a range of classical music and am very excited about this new venture."

Classic FM’s Managing Editor Sam Jackson said: "As one of this country’s best-loved broadcasters, Charlotte Green is a true national treasure.  After spending many years sharing the latest news with millions of listeners, we're thrilled that she’ll now be sharing her love of classical music with our listeners on Classic FM."

Tune into Charlotte Green’s Great Composers every Sunday from 3pm to 5pm (starting on Sunday 7th April).
