Since his childhood days as a choirboy, Aled Jones has always loved choral music. So every Sunday on Classic FM, he invites you to be spiritually uplifted by his Choral Classic. Find out more about the pieces here and reflect on a stunning photo as you listen.
Mozart's sublime 1791 setting of the 14th century Eucharistic hymn was written to celebrate the feast of Corpus Christi. Only forty-six bars long, the piece was composed while Mozart was in the middle of writing The Magic Flute, and while visiting his wife, who was pregnant with their sixth child and staying in a spa near Baden. Mozart died just six months later and the piece foreshadows what was to come in his Requiem. Photo: Getty.
