Actors Sally Phillips, Robert Lindsay and James Norton were among the readers and there were contributions from the inspiring Colvestone Primary School Choir and the Freshfields Choir and CMS Chorale.

"I’m so pleased to be performing for Children & the Arts this Christmas," said Katherine Jenkins.

"It’s a cause I support, because I simply cannot imagine what my life would be like now had I not grown up with music and the arts in my life. Whether you choose to pursue the arts as a career or not, they have an invaluable part to play in who we are, what we become and how we interact with others."

The event raised funds to support the Foundation's work which introduces music and the arts to disadvantaged children and young people.
