Dawn French came into the studio – so we decided to find out what she thought of some bananas music by Messiaen

10 November 2015, 19:03

The brilliant comedian was here to talk to us about her new book, but we wanted to talk mostly about 20th century French composers…

Dawn French is a comedy legend, so when we came into Classic FM, we just had to get her thoughts on some of the greatest pieces ever written – from Rachmaninov to Bach.

So: Messiaen

We whipped out a bit of Olivier Messiaen's Vingt Regards sur l'Enfant Jésus – a suite of 20 pieces for solo piano inspired by the childhood of Jesus. Here's what Dawn made of it.

Some Arvo Pärt
