Find out what happened when Bond soundtrack composers Thomas Newman and David Arnold, responsible for composing the music for Skyfall, Quantum of Solace, Die Another Day and more, came into the Classic FM studio for an exclusive interview. We're broadcasting the whole thing from 8pm on Friday 19 October!
Thomas Newman may know all the secrets from the latest Bond film, Skyfall, but he kept his cards close to his chest when it came to revealing the plot. When asked what he could reveal about the movie, Newman joked: "It's really good!"
We filmed the whole evening with the composers, and recorded the audio, ready for broadcast on Friday 19 October. The audio will be interspersed with the best Bond music over the years.
Joining us live from Los Angeles via video link, prolific film music author and James Bond authority Jon Burlingame also took part in our exclusive interview.
In front of a live studio audience, the Bond music composers treated us to a rare interview, with music expert and broadcaster Tommy Pearson.
The composers relax with Tommy in the Classic FM theatre.
Recording the live interview from Los Angeles, and all the questions and answers in the studio, in preparation for the broadcast on Friday 19 October.
It wasn't just Tommy asking the questions - we handed the microphones over to the audience so they could pick the brains of two of the best film music composers in the business.
Jon Burlingame is a perfect choice for the evening's interview, as he's responsible for writing 'The Music of James Bond', telling the story of the music accompanying the films. He's written a chapter for each film, providing the back story to the famous scores.
Thomas Newman doesn't just specialise in Bond films - he's written music for a whole host of well-known films including Revolutionary Road, WALL-E, and The Shawshank Redemption.
Directed by Sam Mendes and starring Daniel Craig, Skyfall is in cinemas from 27 October. If you can't wait that long, tune in to our celebratory show where we'll be broadcasting our exclusive interview in full, on Friday 19 October.
