Classical music’s child prodigies
Born in 1941, pianist Martha Argerich took up the piano aged 5, and was soon hailed as a prodigy, performing in public. In the space of three weeks in 1957, she won the Geneva International Music Competition and the Ferruccio Busoni International Competition. Not bad for a 16-year-old.
