Jahmir Wallace, a 10-year-old student from Phillipsberg, New Jersey, has learned to play the trumpet despite being born without arms.

Using his toes like fingers, the inspiring student has turned what might be seen as a disadvantage into a method for playing the trumpet in his school band for the school's 5th grade concert.

Wallace had wanted to play the trumpet since he was in the the 3rd grade, and eventually was given the chance to give it a go. Local music shop employees rigged up a customised stand so that he could play the trumpet without having to hold it.

He told WFMZ: "Anybody out there that would like to try an instrument, go ahead and try it. You never know… if you like it you like it, if you don't you don't - keep on trying."
