And it sounds like nothing else we’ve ever heard
Killer wasps? Time-travelling trains? A new young person's guide to the orchestra? Poet Michael Rosen has got quite a challenge ahead of him, as Classic FM's Jamie Crick discovers.
Children's poet and former children's poet laureate Michael Rosen is on a mission to get children interested in the orchestra. His new work, entitled The Great Enormo (or A Kerfuffle in B flat for orchestra, wasps and soprano ), was written with conductor James Morgan and soprano Juliette Pochin and will open the annual Brighton Festival this Saturday 4th May.
Rosen is also the Guest Director of the three-week festival of music, theatre, dance, film and literature events, and Classic FM's Jamie Crick was keen to find out more about the killer wasps, time-travelling trains and The Great Enormo himself.
The Great Enormo will also feature the City of London Sinfonia, who will also perform works by Arnold and Stravinsky. You can find out more about the Brighton Festival here.
