The pianist Panos Karen has just returned from an extraordinary journey - For 30 days he lived in the Amazon rainforests, performing a series of piano recitals. Classic FM's Lucy Coward has been speaking to Panos all about it.
Panos is the founder of Keys of Change, a charity that promotes the benefits of musical education in remote areas of the world. As part of the charity's continuing efforts to build a sustainable musical education programme, Panos travelled across the Amazon River, performing piano recitals of music by Bach and Rachmaninov for indigenous communities in Ecuador and Peru.
Classic FM's Lucy Coward spoke to Panos all about his time in South America, from the logistics of transporting a piano along the Amazon River to Panos' belief that music can change the world.
