And we got a virtuoso to play it for us
Classic FM has been at The Musical Brain Conference at the Institute of Neurology in London, a coming together of scientists, philosophers and musicians to discuss the power of music. We spoke to some of the people involved, including composer and music therapist Nigel Osborne.
Nigel is not only an accomplished composer but he is also a pioneer in the use of music therapy to help children traumatised by war. At the Musical Brain Conference, Nigel spoke about the profound effect music has on humans.
Classic FM's Lucy Coward caught up with Nigel to discuss how music therapy works, the positive feelings associated with music and how the appreciation of music is a uniquely human characteristic.
