Jonathan Cohen originally made his name as a cellist but soon began working as a conductor, fast making a name for himself as one of the most exciting musicians around, especially in early music.
He has worked with orchestras including the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Les Arts Florissants (for which he is Associate Conductor) and conducted at the Glyndebourne Festival.
He founded the ensemble Arcangelo which specialises in early music. The orchestra’s latest recording – of Mozart’s Bassoon Concerto and Oboe Concerto as well as Haydn’s Sinfonia Concertante – is the Featured Album on Classic FM Drive this week.
