Musical abbreviations quiz asset

By Maddy Shaw Roberts

Music is full of complex notations and perplexing symbols. But when it comes to markings like ff, pf and D.S., how clued-up are you?

We’ve gathered together some musical abbreviations, many of which you will have seen before, others which may not be so familiar.

The concept is simple: read the abbreviation, and type the full term into the box. For example, pp would be pianissimo (apols, that one’s not in the quiz).

Are you ready to find out how much of a musical abbreviations geek you are?
