This is what a piano looks like after an international competition

A shocking picture of a blood-stained keyboard has been posted to social media by one of the judges of the Cincinnati World Piano Competition.

Frank Weinstock, who is judging the competition, uploaded the photograph to Facebook at the end of last week, prompting a stream of comments surprised and in some cases impressed by the dedication.

Weinkstock wrote: “This is a picture of the keyboard after a competitor finished a performance of the Bartok Sonata in the quarter finals yesterday--ouch!”

He added that the competitor did manage to progress to the next round of the competition.
