The sound of a dial-up modem in 1998 - it's now a piece of classical music

In the days before broadband, Facebook and YouTube, the internet had a sound - and every ICQ-messaging, Alta-Vista searching, MySpace updating surfer knew it so well.

Here's the sound that your dial-up modem used to make before you hit that super-sweet 56Kbps.

Fellow music geeks over at Touchpress - Classical Music Reimagined were clearly feeling a little nostalgic from the pre-millennium sonic icon. They painstakingly transcribed the modem's sound and performed it as choral music.
