Sir James Galway in concert

In December the internationally celebrated flautist Sir James Galway will play with the acclaimed Orchestra of St John’s in a series of pre-Christmas concerts.

Sir James and John Lubbock, the Orchestra of St John's Artistic Director, have known each other for over 25 years, having first performed concerts together when the orchestra was based in St John’s Smith Square in London from whence the origin of its name. As close personal friends the musicians have collaborated ever since, performing in concert venues across Europe.

As James Galway enthuses:“It is always a joy to perform with the prodigiously talented and experienced players of the Orchestra of St John's.  Under the direction of John Lubbock, each concert becomes a dynamic journey through sophisticated and entertaining music-making and the programme for this year’s UK tour will not disappoint music fans.”
