Beaumaris Youth Band play for Classic FM before their big performance at the Schools Prom at the Royal Albert Hall.

Beaumaris Youth Band won the National Youth Entertainment Championships of Great Britain last February, an accolade that has won them an invitation to play at the Sage Gateshead next week. But first of all, there's the small matter of a performance at the Royal Albert Hall to get out of the way.

Tonight this Anglesey-based band, who conduct all their rehearsals in Welsh, will bring a little Celtic mythology to London. One of the two pieces composed by the band’s musical director Gwyn Evans is based on the legend from the Mabinogi where the giant Welsh King, Bendigeidfran, walks across the Irish Sea with his troops to save his sister.
